EHS Program Development
Developing existing health, safety and environment management systems
We believe safety should be collaborative and practical.
Our goal is to create practical, understandable, and simple programs for all businesses – no matter what the size.
With over 25+ years working in construction, roofing and high voltage industries, with deep experience auditing to legislative standards, our team has a breadth of experience to help you find the best solutions for your business.
Our Process
We begin with a gap analysis to understand the areas of greatest need.
This includes meeting your staff, observing your work in addition to reviewing records, policies, and all other safety documentation. While we’re on site conducting our review, we’ll work with you to address any pressing needs.
We will prepare our observations and recommendations as a formal report. If you’re working towards a certification, this document will flag any obstacles to certification and outline corrective actions.
After your initial review, we make ourselves available to present our findings to your team, clarify our findings and answer any questions.

F.A.Q.
The decision to work with a safety consulting firm is highly individual.
Our FAQs provide a highlight of some of the most common questions we are asked about our services.
What's your minimum project size?
Each of our clients is different in size and scope and no two projects are the same. There is no minimum project size that we require from our clients to establish a working relationship. We do however, specialize in working with high-risk businesses. If your risk profile is not a match for our team, we are happy to connect you with professionals in our network that we recommend.
How long do you typically take to finish the work?
Our goal is to finish the work that you’re trying to get done or teach you how to do it.
We partner with our clients to find solutions that are the best fit for their business – while also respecting their budgets and time. As partners in safety for our clients, our goal is to finish the work that you need completed or empower your staff to manage this internally. We address project timelines in our initial consultation to provide you with a sense for whether our approach aligns with yours.
What areas do you serve?
Utiligent Consulting has developed EHS programs for clients in Canada, the United States, Caribbean and United Kingdom. We continue to provide our services to clients in these international locations today. Our headquarters is located in the Greater Toronto Area.
“I hired Bill twice to lead safety for our organization, both before and after we merged. In both capacities he brought a high degree of calm and clarity to a multitude of business challenges, in particular, our response to COVID-19. Bill’s understanding of our operations is comparable to those of our staff working in the field, which stands apart from most safety professionals in industry. His unique blend of experience working government-side and in-field was invaluable in our time working together.”
